The second-generation 9-axis IMU combination sensor integrates a 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (accelerometer + gyroscope) and a 3-axis magnetometer into a 3mm × 3mm QFN package, reducing the area by 45% compared to the previous generation. The reduction in package size is attributed to the redesign of the 3-axis gyroscope. In the previous generation, the gyroscope’s three sensing axes used three separate structural designs, whereas the new gyroscope adopts a unified structural design. This innovation reduces the gyroscope’s area by 40%.
