The Slot-Type Photoelectric Switch (also known as U-type Photoelectric Switch) is essentially a through-beam photoelectric switch. It is an infrared sensing product composed of an infrared emitter and a receiver. The width of the slot determines the strength of the sensing signal and the detection distance.

Operating through light, the sensor works by receiving and converting infrared light between the emitter and receiver to detect the position of an object. Like other proximity switches, it is non-contact, has minimal limitations from the detected object, and offers long-distance detection capabilities (up to several meters).
