The 8-Channel Grayscale Line Detection Sensor is primarily used in line-following robots. It offers high sensitivity and strong anti-interference capabilities, with minimal impact from regular lighting. The sensor features eight anti-interference grayscale sensors and a high-brightness LED light source. The receiver tube processes varying levels of reflected light, allowing it to detect differences in reflection intensity—the larger the contrast, the better the resolution. Compared to ordinary infrared sensors, this sensor has significantly stronger anti-interference performance.
Features:
- High Sensitivity & Anti-Interference: Equipped with 8 high-sensitivity grayscale sensors and a high-brightness LED, this module excels in environments with varying lighting, ensuring reliable line detection even under normal lighting conditions.
- Color Recognition: Capable of recognizing common race track colors, including green and white, black and white, blue and white, and red and green, with excellent recognition performance. It can also detect other colors with significant grayscale value differences.
- Detection Range: The optimal detection distance is 10-50mm from the sensor head to the ground, with a recommended range of 15-25mm. Below 10mm is considered a blind zone.
- Clear Signal Indicators: Features 8 LED indicators that provide visual feedback. When the sensor detects a higher grayscale value, the output signal changes from high to low, illuminating the corresponding LED.
- Digital Signal Output: The sensor outputs a digital signal (1 or 0), simplifying programming and control. The signal sensitivity can be adjusted based on environmental factors like lighting conditions.
- Voltage Comparator: The sensor uses a voltage comparator with two voltage inputs: one from the receiver tube and one as the reference voltage from the potentiometer. The reference voltage is adjusted according to the voltage values for two color types.
- Easy Calibration: To calibrate, position the sensor probe above a lighter-colored area of the track, and adjust the potentiometer clockwise until the LED lights up. Then, move it to a darker area and adjust until the LED turns off. The sensor will output different signals for the two colors detected.
Applications:
- Line Following Robots: Ideal for intelligent vehicles and line-following competitions, allowing robots to accurately track lines with high precision.
- Race Track Recognition: Recognizes commonly used color combinations like green and white, black and white, and others, with excellent performance in line-following competitions.
- Educational and Experimental Robotics: Perfect for DIY projects, educational kits, and experimental robots that require reliable line tracking in various lighting conditions.
- Industrial Automation: Useful in industrial applications requiring line detection, such as automated guided vehicles (AGVs) or conveyor systems that follow specific paths.
