This motor driver module is ideal for battery-powered smart cars, toy cars, robots, and similar applications. It operates with a supply voltage range of 2V to 10V and can simultaneously drive two DC motors or one 4-wire, 2-phase stepper motor. It supports forward/reverse rotation and speed control, with a continuous current of 1.5A per channel and a peak current of up to 2.5A. The module features thermal protection and automatic recovery, ensuring safe and reliable operation.
Key Features
- High-Efficiency Motor Driver Chip: Utilizes a professional motor driver chip with built-in low-resistance MOSFETs, generating minimal heat, eliminating the need for a heatsink, and making it compact and energy-efficient—an ideal choice for battery-powered systems. (Unlike L298N, which uses transistors, has lower efficiency, higher heat generation, and bulky design.)
- Dual-Channel Output: Each channel supports 1.5A continuous current and up to 2.5A peak current, with built-in thermal protection to prevent damage from motor stalls, automatically recovering when the temperature decreases.
- Compact and Lightweight: Small size and light weight (24.7×21×5mm, 5g), with no standby current, making it perfect for model cars and onboard applications.
- Versatile Driving Capabilities: Supports driving two DC motors or one 4-wire, 2-phase stepper motor with dual H-bridge architecture.
- Reliable Circuit Protection: Built-in anti-cross conduction circuit prevents false motor activation when input is floating. Overheat protection with hysteresis ensures safe operation even during motor stalls.
- Wide Voltage and Current Support: Operates with a module supply voltage of 2V–10V and signal input voltage of 1.8V–7V, while maintaining ultra-low standby current (<0.1µA).
Important Notes
- Reversing the power supply’s positive and negative terminals will damage the circuit.
- Short circuits, output grounding, or motor stalls are protected by thermal shutdown, but prolonged operation near or above 10V voltage and peak currents exceeding 2.5A may damage the chip.
